FIGmd’s Sanket Baralay Speaks About The Role Of Big Data In Healthcare At ABMS Conference 2015
Sanket Baralay, President and CEO of FIGmd, and a leader and innovator in the Health IT and clinical data registry fields, discussed the issues and importance of big data at the American Board of Medical Specialties’ (ABMS) Conference 2015.
Mr. Baralay was paired with Chris Barrett, PhD, Executive Director of the Virginia Bioinformatics Institute for the session entitled, Harnessing the Power of Big Data and Keeping It Secure. Specifically, the two addressed the technical and practical importance of big data, how to gain access to the data, how the data can be used and how to manage legal, HIPAA and IP issues.
Mr. Baralay’s insights and expertise stem from his groundbreaking work in the development of the country’s largest clinical data registries that feature complete interoperability with EMR/EHR systems and zero impact on daily workflow. “Big data is changing healthcare as we know it. Predictive modeling, the ability to bring quality measures to the attention of the physician, improving outcomes, avoiding errors, reducing costs and maintaining security are just the beginning,” said Baralay.
The ABMS Conference 2015, was themed Connect, Communicate and Collaborate and covered five major topics: Operations, Initial Certification, Exam Development and Administration, External Relations/Policy and Research, and Maintenance of Certification (MOC).
The conference was held at the Renaissance Chicago Hotel on September 10 – 11. For more information about Sanket Baralay or FIGmd, go to FIGmd.com.
